I was wondering if there a few good books on database design out there, or even just some good sites that discuss database design.
Chris
Oh... I dunno, I might have just a few ;):
Books:
Beginner/general:
- "Database Design for Mere Mortals", Hernandez (no SQL, just basic concepts)
- "An Introduction to Database Systems", C.J. Date (a classsic)
Theory:
- "The Relational Model for Database Management: Version 2", E.F. Codd (E.F. Codd was the originator of the relational database concept)
- "What not How: Business Rules Approach to Application Development", C.J. Date
- "Foundation for Future Database Systems: The Third Manifesto", C.J. Date
Websites:
- www.dbdebunk.com (C.J. Date is one of the writers here)
- www.searchdatabase.com (general database search engine)
- http://www.itworld.com/nl/db_mgr/05072001/ (Codd's 12 Rules)
