I am a New to Visual Basic. I work for a world wide company that is way behind in schedule in meeting

certian requirements. This company is in the medical device field and by years end needs to coply with

FDA requirements 21CFR.

I am directly involved in enginering and have a major need to create a document control system to fully

control CAD models, drawings and any and all documents used in developing new equipment as well as get

total control over the old drawings from 1985.

I am currently learning VB on my own accord. Today I had a meeting with several important personnel of

the company and they want to go ahead with my proposal.

First : What are the main differences between Visual Basic 6 and Visual Studio .net? I am working with

VB6 but will be purchasing Visual Studio . net next week.

Also what is a recommended Video course to take?

Finally, A Programmer consultant. Of course for Hire......... I am looking for a consultant in a few

weeks to make the initial base program and be avalible for assitance helping me work details in the

program. Upon completion We would hire you for Validating and testing the final system.

The initial program would be basic with some interaction with AutoCad, Visio and our primary CA system of

choice Solidworks. The intent is to develop a Access database to store searchable data from the model,

drawing properties. Signature control, password criteria needs met and original file integrety secured.

Sounds big but a very needed. Company has reservations of a off shelf package that they can not verify

code validation.

Its there a pro out there that is wiling to tackle this ????? Willing to work with a novice like me ????
One that can and will be capable of creating a program that meets FDA Cfr requirements??????
And finallly be around for the next feww months to 2 years as a consultant?????? All of this at an

affordable rate ?????? Asking a bit much but If I don't ask I won't know right?????

This would be a long term relationship for sure.

i was informed that this first division is the test bed. If all works well all other divisions will be

tested. We have mutiple divisions through out the world so again this is a big task.
