Help with ASP page and MS Outlook!

I am in some desperate need of help. I have searched far and wide, and have NOT found a way to do this.

I would like to add a link on an ASP page that I created that adds an appointment to Microsoft Outlook.

I think that Automation is the way to go, but have NOT figured it out. Any help would be great. I have seen it done on another site using javascript. I would be willing to do it that way too.

PLEASE HELP!

Whose appointment book are you trying to update? The local user's or the Outlook server?

I would want it to add it to their local MS Outlook 2000 program.

But if I could figure out how to put it to the Exchange server, that would be a possibility in the future.

I am not sure why you would want the server updating a local machine's address book? If the exchange server is what is utilized you may be better of coding forms through the exchange server instead of attempting to write to it.
Exchange programming is somewhat robust and straight forward.

Well all I am really looking to do is add an appointment to their Outlook Calendar. It may be easiest to add it to their local outlook program. That is what I am basically trying to do through an asp page.

Hopefully be able to populate some of the Appointment fields with query data like: date, customer name, notes, etc.

Any recommendations, examples, tutorials... ANYTHING. I have found many examples, and not one has helped me.

Did you find an answer to this? I am looking to do the same thing. Thanks.

I did, apparently, but it looks like they decided to block my link to the answer. Sorry, but it was so long ago (and a different job ago) that I don't recall the specifics.
