User Authentication With patUser (part 3)

I'm curious. In the last two months, you have featured using PHP to do user authentication with MySQL and to do database access with LDAP. Personally, I think that it would be more useful to do user authentication with LDAP and database access with MySQL. :) LDAP has the big advantage that it can be used as an authentication integration tool between different web applications. So I'm curious as to whether there is an LDAP authentication tool as well-thought-out as patUser...
