I've been meaning to post that for days, but I've been kind of busy. It's a lot less complete than I'd intended, but I figured I may as well put up what I had done so people can post below any additional good CF resources - I'll format them and add them to the list.

Good list cfgeek.

Here's a couple more Macromedia Links

This is just awesome... seriously, thank you for putting the time into this ! :D

B) Are there any compatability issues between the two?
C) Anyone know where an in the box CF 4.5 is available (not enterprise version)

I don't know if you're still looking for replies, but here's my advice:

I went from a CF4.5 to 5.0 and haven't had any trouble with my 4.5 code. I'm not running many Custom Tags, so it will still be something you'll have to test with your setup. However, I know some of the stuff I've written won't work on CF MX, which is delaying me trying that out properly.

And no, I haven't heard of anyone selling 4.5 for quite a while.

Cheers

Paul.

Thanks for those links - very helpful.

:D

It's actually pretty funny to see cfbookmark.com listed here. It's actually my site, right now it's down (sorry for the inconvenience), I'm in the middle of switching hosting providers. But thanks for listing it anyway.

If your getting into cfmx 7 and flash forms then check out

Ken

A good guide to install coldfusion with Apache on Windows or MAC OS X. Also it includes MySQL and Eclipse plus cfeclipse

ACME (Apache, ColdFusion MX 7, MySQL and Eclipse) (http://www.acidlabs.org/extras/acme/)

This is great - does anybody know places where I can post CF Jobs (I'm looking for CF MX7 experienced developer who also know flash, ActionScript and JavaScript for a new startup company.
Thanks

Another great cf resource for UDF's (user defined functions) is cflib.org It has a huge library of UDF's to chose from to cut down your coding time.

Hi All,
I have a question: If we can develop website in PHP and ASP then what's use of ColdFusion when it's not free?

The total cost of ownership and return on investment with ColdFusion is often much higher. Yes, it is not free, but it is not free because it bundles so many services (both free and commercial) into a single easy to use package.

If you look at the feature set of what is included in CF (searching, charting, PDF generation, Excel generation, .NET integration, Java integration, Sharepoint, Hibernate, MS Office, web services, AMF messaging, EXTJS, DataDirect JDBC drivers, server monitoring, SMS gateway, XMPP gateway, and much more) you will see that it dwarfs what is available for free in PHP or .NET (or any other platform for that matter).

The small cost of CF is offset almost immediately by the speed of development. A typical programmer may cost $50 an hour. That means a paltry 26 hours (just 3 days) of work will add up to the cost of a CF server license. One will easily save far more than that building any significant project with CF.

Hi All

For those that have Iphones, I found a great little app on the Iphone App Store called ColdFusion Reference and thought some of you may be interested in it.

This is just awesome... seriously, thank you for putting the time into this ! :D

For those who are coming from an HTML/CSS background, with maybe a little bit of JavaScript... I made a blog with a bunch of easy to understand tutorials: ColdBlue.Net

I made the tutorials CFML engine independent (all code works in Adobe ColdFusion, OpenBlueDragon, and Railo).

I've been intending to post that for a considerable length of time, but I've been sort of occupied. It's a great deal less finish than I'd aimed, but I figured I might simultaneously set up what I had done so folks can post underneath any more exceptional CF assets-I'll arrange them and add them to the catalogue.
