Advice please

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I've just built a new system using a MSI KT6 Delta MoBo. On powering up the system I just get 3 system beeps, then a pause then 3 beeps and so on. I'm guessing that this is some kind of critical hardware error, and reading through the MoBo manual there seems to be some issue with using DDR400 PC3200 memory, which is what I am using. The only identification on the memory stick is VM512Mb DDR PC400. Am I on the right lines with trying to solve the problem guys? Thanks in advance for any help.

Am I on the right lines with trying to solve the problem guys? What lines? you didn't say what you were trying. I think you probably have AMI bios on that board, in which case 3 beeps is indeed a memory problem. Try the steps outlined here http://www.pcmech.com/show/troubleshoot/14/
If this doesn't work, post back with what happens.

Thanks for that Karsh. I've actually sorted it now. It was, as you suggested, a memory problem. The stick of DDR 400 that I originally fitted must have been incompatible with the MSI board. I sinply fitted a stick of 512Md DDR PC2100 and away it went, smooth as silk.
