MOtherboard problems

I have big problem. My pc random reboots(winxp, dos, sometimes in bios). After this sometimes i get CMOS settings wrong, DRAM settings wrong or something like this. What's wrong?Please help!!!

Hardware: P4 2.6C, MSI 875p (MS-6758) motherboard, 2*256 DDR Mushkin Blue Line PC3200(dual channel), ati all in wonder 9800pro.

according to my 'learned' friend that cpu temp is a little too high...but im not as convinced of that, and i doubt it is the cause of ur prob, as thats where mine runs normally...im not an expert, but he seems to think he is, and he reckons its too high, especially if its an idle temp....just thought i'd have my 2 cents

Try replacing your CMOS Battery. It's possible that when it overheats, it restarts and the BIOS recognizes nothing because your CMOS battery died.

I really doubt that temp's shutting you down. Are you getting blue screen before it restarts?

Is this a new build or have you run this machine for awhile? It could be alot of things, but your proc temp is a little high for just being idle, my P4 2.53 runs consistenly below 40C and only comes up to about 50C when running at 100% for awhile. That's probably not what's shutting you down, but it's worth a look.

Personally at this point I'm yanking everything out of the box except the graphics card and starting over. Reseat the RAM, you might even take your proc HSF off to make sure it has good contact and enough thermal grease and that it's spread evenly. (if you didn't use thermal grease or don't have some spare laying around, don't take it off until you get some). If the box posts ok and gets through the BIOS to try to load the OS, then connect your HDD back up and try to boot. Gradually put peices back in until it fails again.

I am having the same problem....my computer will randomly reboot.....mostly happens in xp though.....tested everything several times....only problem that i can see is my cpu is running a bit hot or a bad board :(

I have tried everything to locate the problem....mem tests, hdd tests, bench tests, complete system format,. virus scan, voltage tests during idle and use, still no matter what i do i can never get a definite answer. Also I clean my computer every two weeks, in which i remove every part and clean it separately ( don't worry I'm a tech lol). This rig was only finished about 6 months ago and the store warrenty expires after 30 days which means that i would have to send the part back to the company..... but then again im not sure if it's the board.

this morning i turned on the computer and the monitor status was "no signal". i thought restarting it by pressing the button would fix the problem but it didn't, i later found out that the plug was losen up and when my computer tries to go in windows, it says the computer was restarted unexpectedly and gave me a couple of choices to choose from.

there were safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good cofiguration (your most recent settings that worked), start windows normally. When i choose one of the options, it freezes. when i try safe mode, a list of files pop out and it stops at windows\system32\drivers\mup.sys .when i choose last known good configuration or start windows normally, it just freezes.

i had this problem a couple of times already and i gave it to this store for repair. they said there was something wrong with the motherboard and the second time they said some system crashed. i don't really believe them but they fixed the problem everytime.

my parents wont bring this to repair because they dont want me to play video games over the summer holidays! and also wants me to fix this myself because it costs 20 dollars each time to fix. Please help me! its 2 days away from summer holidays for me and i was waiting for this day for my whole life! to wake up and be able to play on the computer without worrying about school! please help me fix this so i can get back in to my dream
