Does this mean that the motherboard will only take two drives (ie. one dvd and one hard drive)?

I was hoping to have two hard drives, a dvd and a cdr.

this means you will have two, on-board ide channels, each should support two devices, a total of four. use the correct jumper settings on each device when connecting.
