no display! nothing on screen

It worked properly before i changed something from the CMOS i think (the one that appears when you press DEL when booting or turning on the computer! Am I right?). I changed some setting like 10X to 24X and 100 to 132. when it restarted the screen did not display anything...

It was something like CPU clock and other CPU thing. HELP, I have a deadline at school to meet...

tell me where to start. please...

Thanks a lot!!!

Sounds like you altered a CMOS setting that your processor cannot handle. Because it cannot handle the settings you put in it is not booting.

What I would suggest is
1. Dump CMOS. this can be done in two different ways. There is a jumper on the motherboard that you short out (WITH THE POWER OFF). Your motherboard manual should tell you where this is. The other way is to remove the battery on the motherboard, wait for about 20 minutes or so and then put it back in. The battery looks like a large watch battery about the size of a quarter.

2. restart the computer and enter CMOS (BIOS) settings. because you have dumped CMOS you will need to go back into CMOS and reset the settings. If you are not comfortable with setting all the values, you should see an option to load default values. You can select this and then set the date and time to current values, then save the settings and exit and your system should work.

Sometimes loading the default values does not set everyting where it should be. If this is the case you will need to do some research to find the correct setting. Your manuals should provide you with the correct values. If not call the manufacturer or look for a manual online.

If you have a removable battery on your CMOS memory then remove it. Wait 30 seconds and put the batteries back. You will lose your CMOS memory but the computer should go back to default state. If you have the manual, read about reseting CMOS to defaults. Manufacturers usually supply an easier way to reset the CMOS.

i did remove the battery for 30 minutes... just to be sure... and walah it worked back to its usual operation...

I really did altered some settings... That was so stupid of me...

Well thanks a lot guys... I owe you one...
