can anyone help.
i'm have an 1600xp but only running it at 1200 as trying to get temp down, current temp is 54 degrees, i use two 80cm fans to blow in and a flower with a 90cm fan running on slient. how can i get the temp lower?
PS is the any free temp monitoring software, out there as i have to keep going back into bois to see temp?

What's the recommended temp range for that CPU? I don't see 54 degrees being that high.

54 is somewhat on the high side, though nothing dangerous. You're sure your cpu fan is running well? Also, are you sure the heat sink is attached to the cpu well? Esp. if you installed it yourself, there could be problems with the contact, which would result in poor cooling.
Another thing- where is the computer box itself? Enclosed spaces, such as in many computer desks and such, will heat up and keep the whole system running warmer than if you allow some space around it for ventilation.

turn your fans on a higher speed and see if that helps. You may wish to take your heatsink off your cpu and reapply new thermal compound. You also might wanna check the direction of your fans to make sure they are blowing in the correct direction.
