Hello,,lets start with my system specs, AMD athlon XP 2500+(barton), K7N2 Delta (nvidia nforce 2 chipset) mobo, Kingston Hyper X pc2700 ddr Ram/512mb's, ATI Radeon 9600xt vid card, and Thermalright SLK900a heatsink w/92mm fan, also two 120mm fans intake and exaust. I see all the time that other owners of the 2500+Barton have no trouble at all reaching 2.2Ghz to 2.4Ghz and keeping it stable. I can barely keep 2.02Ghz stable, it is what im at now. I tried almost everything imaginable in the bios. Lowered the ram timeings, increased votalge to the v core, and the ram, tryed multiplyers instead of raising the FSB so high. No matter what i do it becomes unstable past 2.02Ghz. So if anyone knows what to do or see's a weakness in my setup,or even had a simalar problem and knows a solution, all comments are welcome.

What is the CPU temperature?
Temps are fine,around 45c full load, depending on the room temp, might reach 48c max.
umm on mine it's an old asus tx97-e 200 mhz over clocked to 250..it is unstable at 225..but the multiplier is on 2 and the fsb is 112.6 or something..it could be the fsb is to fast..lower the fsp and increase multiplier tha's what i did
For some reason, the multiplyer wont go past 12.5,,there is a 13x option but when i set it to that,,the cpu drops to some rediculous speed like 700mhz. I tried everything i know possible, FSB speeds ,multiplyers, voltage, think i might just give up and accept 2.02Ghz, which is a little better than the stock speed of 1.83Ghz, so i cant be that mad :)
Hi, this might come a little late. I have an asus a7n8x mobo with the 2500+. I think your problem might lie with your memory. You say you have pc2700, and it is rated to 166mhz, so raising your fsb means pushing it beyond what it was supposed to work. This is just a guess. you could try using another type of memory (pc3200).
As for me, I can't overclock past 1.9 ghz, or so, without crashing once in a while (or when benchmarking). My processor seems to be locked, can't change the multiplier, so I have only raised my fsb to about 180mhz. My memory is pc3200, and haven't changed the timings past what the bios recomends, maybe doing that could help. Also, my temps are quite high, hovering at around 55-58°C loaded.

well ive got a 2500 XP barton as well and its running stable at 2200mhz and says its a 3200 xp. Ive got 512mb of kingmax 3500 ram at 2.75V and the core voltage is 1.775. My system is rock solid, but just a thought, mine used to crash when i was on a 350 watt PSU when i upgraded that to a 420watt PSU it was fine and ive had no problems since. If i also remember correctly different 2500 xp's have different overclocking potential depending when they were made. Hope this helps :)
