Apologies for the question!

Hi - I'm not a developer by any means so apologies if this is a stupid question. I have MSSQL hosting, which is fine as I have had an web application developed which uses an SQL database and everything is currently working OK.

Now, I'm wanting to set up another completely unrelated site/application which again will pull data from an SQL database.

Can the new site be hosted on the same webspace - ie using the same SQL 'installation' as the original site?

Or, do I need to purchase another hosting account, with a seperate 'installation' of MSSQL for this second site to run?

Like I said - sorry if that seems like a dumb question. But thanks for your help in advance, anyway.

If you're asking the question in terms of technical possibility, yes it is technically possible to run a new site using the same SQL installation as the original site.

If you're asking the question in terms of a business decision, that depends entirely on your hosting company. Ask them if they allow/offer this or not :).

OK - question answered.

Thanks!

What my host doesn't know won't hurt 'em, surely?

Actually...this is what my host says about MSSQL...

"MS SQL Server 2000 database included for FREE in this package. Use generous amounts of space and create as many tables as you like. Operate powerful databases - MS SQL 2000 is comparable with IBM DB2, Sybase or even Oracle. "

Which says to me there wouldn't be a problem! ;)
