RaptorCool I + FalconRock II. Good Enough?

I have a AthlonXP 2600+ and I have tried a RaptorCool I from Speeze and a Falcon Rock II from Spire.

According to their repective websites, they should work up to 2700+ Thoroughbreds and 3200+ Bartons. I have a thoroughbred XP, and am still finding that my computer runs at 60-70 C

Should this be happening?

What are you using your computer for, where are you storing it, how many case fans do you have, are you sure you have installed the sink correctly and the fan is running at the maximum speed?

The computer is being used currently under normal conditions, but i hope to use it for gaming as soon i have solved any issues i have here and with my PSU.

It is being stored underneath my desk, but has both the side panels off as the PSU would otherwise block of the CPU fan. As the side panels are off, the system has a good suply of air, and thus the fact that this case only has a single case fan should be irrelevant. When i upgrade the PSU, i am aiming to upgrade the case as well.

I am pretty certain the sink + fan is installed properly, and i can think of no reason why it isnt.

The fan is running at 2100-2200 RPM, and the rated spped is 2300 +/- 10%

Is this all the information you should require?

Did you install the heat sink yourself, that you can be sure its right? Also, what are you using to tell the cpu temp?

Just wanted to say hello all. This is my first post.I hope to learn a lot here.
