temperature info

I am having intel p4 2.66 Ghz,DG865 M/b based system.
with intel active monitor.what is the normal temperature for
proceessor zone and for memory (ram zone).
Normally it is 67 degree celcius in proceessor zone
system zone temp is 70 degree celcius .

That is too hot. You should be in the low to mid 30's at idle, low to mid 40's under load for CPU temp, system temp should be about ambient (25-30 C usually).

Thanks for replying.
even when i start the m/c temperature is always 45 degree celcius.is this a s/w problem,i dont have any trouble with my pc,at 100% cpu utilization,i am geting best performance.
but i am worried about temperature, needs help

Put your computer in the coolest place available, preferrably somewhere with air conditioning, and be sure there is space around the box for sufficient airflow. Open the box and remove any dust that has accumulated, particularly on the heat sink and fan. The next step would be to remove the heat sink from the cpu (when the computer is off!), clean off all the black thermal pad junk from the heat sink and the cpu using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth, then apply some arctic silver thermal paste to the cpu and reattach the heatsink and fan. This would improve heat transfer.
Adding fans, new heatsink, etc are other options.
